Official Arm-Sports Rules Book

Complete guide to age categories, weight classes, equipment standards, and competition rules.

General Rule

Each nation/state may nominate up to two competitors per arm (right arm and left arm) in each division (division = Children, Youth, Senior, Master, Grand Master, Disabled).

Age-group definitions

  • Children: under 14 years

  • Youth: under 18 years

  • Senior: 18–35 years

  • Master: 35–50 years

  • Grand Master: 50 years and above

Equipment & Table Specifications

  • For “sit-down” matches: table top must be 28 inches from floor; for “stand-up” matches: 40 inches from floor. 

  • Table top dimensions: 36 inches across, 26 inches deep.

  • Elbow pads: 7″ × 7″ square, 2″ thick, heavy-quality foam covered with vinyl/rexin; attached via a 1/8″ metal sheet + bolts. 

  • Touch pads (for pin detection): 14″ long × 4″ high × 2″ wide, good quality. 

  • Hand pegs: should be placed midway (13″) on each edge of the table, 1″ in from edge; peg diameter 1″, height 6″ from table top.

Uniform / Participation Conditions

    • Competitors must wear either short-sleeve or sleeveless T-shirts + sports pants (tracksuit bottoms). Jeans not allowed.

    • On the back of the T-shirt must be printed state or country name.

Weigh-in & Competition Rules

There is no “clothing allowance” — meaning the weigh-in is strict.  All weigh-ins must be done on scales approved by World Arm sport Federation (WAF).  Weigh-in must happen no sooner than 24–30 hours before the first day of the competition.
